I've had a woman attempt to explain something to me (not in the area of her expertise), something I knew much better than her (due to it being my professional specialty), and continue to ask questions like "do you understand this?" in very condescending ways after explaining something incorrectly.
"Mansplaining" is a term, we can use it, that's fine. We needed a term for that. But this style of ignorant lecturing isn't really gendered. Women can be eye-roll-inducingly oblivious and condescending too. All people are flawed, and sometimes that really bubbles over. It's okay. This isn't the type of thing we wouldn't forgive someone over anyway.
